Key Responsibilities<ol><li> Product Strategy & Business Performance</li></ol><ul><li>Own the P&Lfor the GC seafreight product, taking full accountability for Gross Profit (GP), volume targets (FCL and LCL), and yield per TEU.</li><li>Develop and execute a multi-year product roadmap that aligns with the global seafreight centralization strategy, transitioning from decentralized station-led models to a cohesive product-led structure.</li><li>Conduct in-depth trade lane research and market analysis to identify growth opportunities, mitigate risks, and adjust pricing/procurement strategies dynamically.</li></ul><ol start="2"><li> Procurement & Carrier Management</li></ol><ul><li>Spearhead all procurement activities for the GC region across all major trades (Transpacific, Europe, Intra-Asia).</li><li>Lead strategic rate negotiations with ocean carriers, NVOCCs, and co-loaders to secure competitive buying rates and allocation, ensuring space and equipment availability during peak seasons.</li><li>Establish standardized procurement frameworks and contract management protocols to ensure consistency across all GC branches.</li></ul><ol start="3"><li> LCL & Consolidation Network Development</li></ol><ul><li>Drive the expansion of the LCL productby establishing proprietary consolidation boxes (own consol) on key lanes.</li><li>Optimize the co-loader cooperation strategy to stabilize capacity and maintain service levels while maximizing revenue per CBM.</li><li>Build a robust gateway and hub structure within GC to support both export and import consolidation flows.</li></ul><ol start="4"><li> Team Leadership & Organizational Design</li></ol><ul><li>Restructure and "purify" the ocean product team structure across GC, shifting from station-centric management to a specialized, functional product organization (e.g., Procurement, Trade Management, LCL Product, Operations Excellence).</li><li>Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of product managers and regional ocean leads, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.</li><li>Design and implement comprehensive staff training programs focused on product knowledge, digital tools, and operational excellence to boost productivity metrics.</li></ul><ol start="5"><li> Productivity & Operational Excellence</li></ol><ul><li>Define and monitor key productivity indicators (KPIs) for the ocean product team, ensuring performance exceeds market averages (target: 70+ productivity score).</li><li>Collaborate with regional branch managers to streamline standard operating procedures (SOPs) for free-handle shipments, reducing manual intervention and driving efficiency.</li><li>Oversee data quality and system hygiene, ensuring GC ranks among the top performers globally in data integrity.</li></ul><ol start="6"><li> Cross-functional Collaboration</li></ol><ul><li>Act as the primary liaison between the China region and Global Seafreight HQ, cascading global initiatives while advocating for local market realities.</li><li>Partner closely with the Sales and Key Account Management teams to support high-value RFQs and complex global tenders with competitive, innovative seafreight solutions.</li><li>Coordinate with the Contract Logistics division to drive cross-selling opportunities, particularly for integrated supply chain solutions.</li></ul><table><tbody><tr><td>Qualifications & Experience<ul><li>Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or professional logistics certification (e.g., FIATA, IATA) is highly preferred.</li><li>Experience: Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in the freight forwarding industry, with at least 5-8 years in a senior product leadership role specifically managing seafreight within Greater China.</li><li>Industry Knowledge: Deep expertise in ocean freight procurement, FCL/LCL product development, and trade lane management. Proven track record of driving yield improvement and GP growth in a volatile market.</li><li>Strategic Mindset: Demonstrated experience in driving organizational centralization or structural transformation (e.g., moving from station-led to product-led models).</li><li>Financial Acumen: Strong P&L management skills with a history of exceeding budget targets (ideally 20%+ annual growth).</li><li>Leadership: Proven ability to lead large, multi-location teams (150+ staff) through periods of change.
