<p><strong>The Company</strong></p><p>A world-leading American retail group.</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>We are seeking an experienced SAP Finance Principal Product Owner to join a global SAP ERP team based in Shanghai, China. This role will play a critical part in a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation program across the APAC region. The position is focused on driving finance transformation, improving operational flexibility, enhancing customer service, reducing complexity, and enabling the adoption of industry best practices through a clean core SAP strategy.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Lead the implementation of SAP S/4HANA solutions within the Finance domain, managing internal and external resources, project timelines, and budgets.</li><li>Drive the adoption of industry best practices by leveraging standard SAP S/4 capabilities.</li><li>Partner cross-functionally with business and technology stakeholders to align priorities, resolve conflicts, and ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives.</li><li>Lead, coach, and develop a team of managers and experienced individual contributors within the SAP Finance function.</li></ul><p>Core Duties</p><ul><li>Translate business processes and requirements into scalable system solutions and functional designs.</li><li>Build strong partnerships across cross-functional teams to influence decision-making and ensure effective delivery through reliable processes.</li><li>Serve as the SAP Finance subject matter expert, with deep knowledge of capabilities including:<ul><li>General Ledger</li><li>Controlling</li><li>Accounts Payable</li><li>Accounts Receivable</li><li>Fixed Assets</li><li>Integration with Order to Cash, Retail, E-commerce, Logistics, and Procurement</li></ul></li><li>Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify and document:<ul><li>Business processes</li><li>Functional specifications</li><li>Test plans and scripts</li><li>Deployment plans</li></ul></li><li>Design future-state finance solutions, enhancements, and continuous improvements based on business priorities.</li><li>Define SAP Finance security roles and support segregation of duties requirements.</li><li>Provide oversight and input on SAP master data, hierarchies, and reporting processes.</li><li>Partner with application support teams to ensure a smooth transition from hypercare to steady-state support.</li><li>Ensure compliance with SAP audit controls and applicable SOX requirements.</li><li>Support monthly financial close, forecasting, budgeting, and planning activities.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.</li><li>10+ years of SAP experience across Finance-related modules, including:<ul><li>FI-GL</li><li>AR</li><li>AP</li><li>Credit Management</li><li>Asset Management</li><li>Special Ledger (FI-SL)</li><li>Project Systems</li><li>Bank Accounting</li><li>Foreign Currency</li><li>Treasury</li></ul></li><li>Proven experience implementing SAP solutions for multinational organizations across the APAC region.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and apply systems knowledge in complex environments.</li><li>Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities within tight timelines.</li><li>Experience leading finance-related operations within Product and Technology environments is preferred.</li><li>Self-starter with a proactive approach and the ability to work independently.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP FICO strongly preferred.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including overnight travel, up to 20%.</li></ul><p><em>Robert Half Ltd is committed to equal opportunity and we value diversity at our company.
