The Role

Responsibilities:

Tax compliance

  • Manage the filing of corporate income tax returns
  • Review the indirect tax returns
  • Manage the optimization of the income tax pre-payments (if applicable)
  • Monitor the indirect tax actual vs forecast
  • Manage the reporting of transfer pricing documentation per local requirements
  • Handle various local tax audits

Tax accounting

  • Assume the ownership of income tax accounts in both accounting system and reporting under both local and US GAAP, including account reconciliation, tax support for statutory financial statement audit, FAS109 tax package preparation, FIN48 assessment, SOX compliance (where necessary)
  • Review the reconciliation for indirect tax accounts
  • Cooperate and/or manage multifunctional teams to improve tax/accounting reporting through improved systems set-up

Tax consultation

  • Provide tax consultation to various functions on operational and business transactions
  • Identify tax risks and planning opportunities and initiate the implementation of solutions by communicating and interfacing with business partners
  • Be up to date on tax regulation, interact with various business personnel on the changes of direct/indirect tax regulations and the impact on existing processes & systems

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's/Master’s Degree in Finance or Tax with focus on tax
  2. At least 8 years tax experience, focus on processes and proven leadership expertise; A Big-Four experience is a plus
  3. Local income tax and indirect tax expertise
  4. Local GAAP and US GAAP knowledge
  5. ERP systems and Hyperion knowledge
  6. Team player with a positive 'can do’ attitude
  7. Use personal judgment and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions for challenges and obstacles
  8. High level of communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational and planning skills
  9. Ability to work ethically and with full integrity when making time sensitive or difficult decisions
  10. Excellent oral and written English language skills
  11. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint), Internet and e-mail.
