Job Summary

The IT Director supervises IT operations, including infrastructure, security and systems for china. He/ she will develop long range IT strategies and medium term plans to ensure that technology remains relevant to business needs, and is aligned with the organization’s risk management policies. He/ she shall drive change management, business process re-engineering to support business improvement where relevant. The IT Director will be the custodian of the IT budget, project planning as well as vendor selection and management.

The IT Director will work closely with key stakeholders across China BUs and will actively participate in strategic initiatives, such as digital and connectivity transformations.

The IT Director will report hierarchically to the China CFO and functionally to the Regional CIO. He will also closely liaise with Regional IT team located in Singapore.


Organisation, supervision, oversight

- Oversight of China IT operations, activities and budgets

- Leadership of a team of xx, including sales & inventory system development team based in Beijing

- Plan and organise the activities of the internal and external IT team; work towards the continuous improvement of team efficiency and help employees with professional development and training

- Holds responsibility for IT staffing and budgeting projections

Information Systems Solutions & Projects

- Identify and lead development and deployment of effective systems supporting business processes

o Support Business Units in reviewing their business processes, software evaluation and system implementation

- Manage projects - requirements, budget, and on-time delivery

- Plays a leading role in the digital transformation of the business

Infrastructure Management

- Plans and implements additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting infrastructure in coordination with Corporate leadership - networks, servers, workstations, storage, and security devices. Oversees the implementation and maintenance of network security

- Anticipates future network requirements, identifies proactive solutions to satisfy needs

- Helps establish and build relationships with vendors in conjunction with Corporate leadership

- Oversees all IT-related purchasing and budget usage; works with finance to develop budgets

- Holds responsibility for capacity planning and scheduling vendor negotiations related to IT

- Holds responsibility for security of all IT systems and services. Ensure full compliance with the Group security policies and quality assurance procedures and methods


- Support the business units in understanding and analysing their functional requirements and help raise the performance bar of the associated business processes, data, applications and systems

- Suggest functional, technical and organisational upgrades to improve business process performance


We are looking for a strategic, people and business orientated IT leader with comprehensive IT knowledge in architecture, infrastructure and system/application

- Degree/Masters in IT/Computer Science

- Minimum 10 years proven experience as a leader in a technology department, ideally in supervising IT operations, strategy and roadmaps

- Chinese and English speaking

Professional skills

- Good technical background on Network, Windows, Linux, Security, Storage, Voice and Data communication

- Project management experience in an international context

- Ability to collect, analyze business requirements and to deliver clear statements of requirements

- Substantial exposure to data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, report writing and outsourced systems

Inter-personal and leadership skills

- Strong communication skills (written and oral). Able to effectively communicate relevant IT-related information to superiors, and flex messages based on audience

- Influencing skills - ability to listen, adapt and make suggestions

- Ability to champion change and effectively manages the implementation of new ideas.

- Hands on, capable to address issues - or escalate as appropriate

- Rigor and good synthesis capacities, attention to detail, accuracy

- Ability to work under pressure in a local / global context

- Must be able to multitask – strong organizational & time management skills
